It’s one of those strange weekends #EPLpreview

Burnley vs Manchester United. Normally not the most interesting game, but given the recent misfortunes of the Red Devils this has suddenly become one of the tastiest fixtures of the weekend.

You probably know that Man United have been…well…pretty crap for the last few weeks. An opening day home loss to Swansea was followed up by what I think was a fortunate draw at Sunderland. Then came Tuesday night, when the team was humiliated 4-0 by MK Dons in the Capital One Cup. Not even the signing of the truly world class Angel Di Maria has been able to lift the mood around Old Trafford — at least not judging by many of the Man U fans that I chat to in real life and on social media.

Burnley, similarly, have also had a somewhat sluggish start to the season. The newly-promoted side has lost its first two games, sitting second bottom on the table thanks only to QPR’s worse goal difference.

So, where does that leave this fixture?

I’m going to thoroughly fence-sit on this one. 1-1.

Been a tough few weeks for Manchester United. I predict that it'll continue this weekend. Burnley 1 - 1 ManU.

But it’s not just this fixture that intrigues me this weekend. Everton vs Chelsea looks like an absolute cracker. The Toffees were unlucky not to beat Arsenal last weekend. At 2-0 up and playing the much better football, they should have walked it — especially at home. Chelsea, were also 2-0 up in their last fixture against Leicester City, but didn’t look terribly convincing. However, they showed their class and held on to get the 3 points.

I picked a draw on SuperBru, but, realistically, Chelsea should win it. I just think they have the class right through the squad to win this game. Truth be told, I think they’ll go on to win the league.

Then there’s Spurs vs Liverpool. The game I hate every season. Why? Because I hate both teams. It’s the fixture that I desperately want both teams to lose. Again, I picked a draw because, truth be told, I can’t bring myself to ever pick either team to win.

Spurs vs Liverpool. Grumpy Cat perfectly reflects my feelings.

And let me finish off this preview with a word on my beloved Arsenal. It’s been an interesting few weeks for the side. Tough away draws at Everton in the league and in the Champions League qualifier against Besiktas, in the mix with hard-fought wins against Crystal Palace and Besiktas at home. I said on Twitter on Wednesday night that perhaps we’re starting to see a tougher, more resilient Arsenal. And I hope I’m right.

As much as the last few weeks haven’t shown Arsenal’s class and potential, I still think the team will beat Leicester City — and comfortably, too.
