There’s a huge opportunity for young girls in Durban… The eThekwini Municipality is looking for a group of soccer-playing girls to represent the city in Bremen, Germany, for an international tournament.
In a statement, the municipality said: “[The] eThekwini Municipality has been invited by its Sister City Bremen, Germany, to participate in the 2016 One Nations Cup Football Festival. The festival scheduled to commence from 30 May until 04 June 2016 will not only serve to strengthen the city’s Sister City relations with Bremen, but is a rare opportunity for young females from the city to showcase their football talent on the international stage.”
This is the first time the Team eThekwini will have a girls’ side.
Trials for the team will take place for girls born in 2011 or later, you just have to pitch up with birth certificates and photos. The girls will also have to provide their own sports kit for the trials.
If you are interested, or know someone who is, details of the trails in the four regions are here.
