And so the mo must go #Movember (last day picture included)

So here it is, the end of Movember. Finally the month-long torture of an itchy, annoying moustache has come to an end.

Goodbye, good mo.
Goodbye, good mo.

For me, it’s been a bit of a journey. It’s pushed me and challenged me to get checked for cancer — something I’ve been terrified to do since losing my dad to cancer four-and-a-half years ago. (I’m all 100% clear, by the way.)

It’s a month that has made me even more proud of my brother, Andrew, and his efforts for this month. He’s raised over R3700 for the Cancer Association of SA in his personal capacity, and a further R700 donated to his Movember team. You can check out Team Savs here, and his personal page here. You can also follow him on Twitter: @asavides. Boet, I am so proud of your efforts, and dad would be, too. You are a rockstar.

My brother, Andrew, my hero.

Thank you to everyone who got checked out, those who donated, and those that didn’t just grow a moustache for the hell of it (because doing so would just be pointless).

My colleagues are delighted that the ‘mo is going tomorrow morning, so in honour of the ferrit that’s been living on my face for the last 30 days, here’s a picture taken this very morning:

last day mo

And, ladies and gents — or should I say MoBros and MoSisters — that is that. Until next year.
