Police this afternoon (Tuesday) arrested a 36-year-old man after R3 million worth of suspected stolen goods were found in his Point appartment. He will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

The man was found with 19 brand new plasma TV sets, 60 laptops, 20 old plasma TV sets and 15 desktop computers, said SA police spokesman Lt Col Vincent Mdunge. They have an estimated value of R3m.

“All this was found at a flat in the Point area, where the man resides. Police investigations revealed that some of these goods were stolen during house breakings, house robberies, theft out of motor vehicles and containers from the harbour,” Mdunge said.

It is also believed that the man does business in other African counties.
