Of Speedos and six-packs

Chad Le Clos will headline the meet this weekend. The teenager has set the swimming world alight over the past 18 months. This picture was taken after he returned from the World Champs last year. PICTURE: S'BONELO NGCOBO / INL

It will be a mass of splashing, speed, six-packs and Speedos in Durban for the SA International Invitational Swimming Meet on Saturday and Sunday. Loads of top swimmers will be taking part in the two-day event, which kicks off with heats at 9.30am at the King’s Park Swimming Pool.

I would encourage Durbanites to head down to the pool and support our men and women. This has been accepted as an official Olympic qualifying event (for most events, anyway) and has been fully sanctioned by FINA, so you would expect the swimmers to be trying their best.
